Grand Designs: Planning Ahead

Commissioning a tailor to make your vestments can strike fear at the heart of one’s purse strings, but with our choice of payment plans, managing your sartorial spending is all part of the service.

With a little forward planning and the use of Brown in Town’s *BiT Account for example, it is possible to pay a 25% deposit in order to get the ball rolling and the balance paid by standing order over the course of 6, 9 or 12 months so that we can focus on more pressing matters, such as the cut of one’s jib or getting to the church on time.

For commissions that are required more readily, we accept a deposit of 50% that we might go to market and procure your choice of bespoken cloth and finish your Suit, Jacket, Trousers etc. The balance is then settled at the first fitting.

Of course, we also offer a great many accoutrements such as shoes, socks, ties and scarves to name a few which can be procured following a visit to Brown in Town, but for larger commissions such as Wedding Suits or indeed an overhaul of an entire wardrobe which requires a little more investment in one’s finances not to mention one’s time, let us take time together to find the best fit for you.

*In the tradition of Savile Row tailors, we have always been keen to offer our patrons the option to have an account whereby one pays a monthly subscription and, when the need arises, they commission a new tailored suit, shirt, jacket, blazer, slacks, chinos, shorts or what have you, which, providing the account is in good order, we would make – the balance of which would be paid at the first fitting, in the same way, if agreeable.
