NOW is the time: Embarking on your Wedding Journey

With the whole year ahead of you to make arrangements for your wedding ensemble, now is the time.

Far be it from us to say, but one must be organised when embarking on your wedding journey and choosing the right suit -  the longer you have the better! From choosing the fabric to the fit to the details.

It is sometimes a daunting prospect designing your own wedding suit, with so many things to take into consideration and every decision worth deliberating.... but above all we want you to enjoy the journey and are here to guide you every step of the way.

fabric and colour

It is with the greatest care that we find just the right shade of cloth for your occasion and it is of the utmost importance that the colour of your wedding suit not only reflects your personality but also complements the overall theme and colour palette of your day.

We work with some of the worlds best mills and as you can imagine, hand picking a cloth can take some time - sometimes requiring more than one appointment. And not all chosen cloths will be in stock, so the more time we have to make the perfect choice, the better.

cut

Brown in Town is something of a Free House, offering its customers a choice of cuts depending on their own personal taste and requirements - The English Cut is a classic style offering a well fitted silhouette - though not spray-on - which is elegant with a robust construction which lends itself to traditional cloths, typically those over 12oz. The Fatto-In-Italia is deconstructed by nature with an unlined construction, no shoulder pads or sleeve-head - the hand finished full canvas providing a softer more natural fit and silhouette inspired by Neapolitan tailoring, which works particularly well with summer weights, something to think about if you are setting your date for warmer weather. Overall, your choice will be driven by the fit you feel most at ease and confident in.

custom lining

If our huge selection of house linings and fancies ranging from Liberty prints to paisley and polka dot aren’t unique choice enough, you can create your own Gentlemen’s Pleasure - so called because it is for Sir’s enjoyment and not for general consumption... the possibilities are endless.

detailing

From contrast coloured stitching on your lapel buttonhole to cuff detailing, contrast meltons under ones collar and braces buttons to fishtale waistbands and personalised embroidery… Every element of your suit can be customised to accommodate your utmost desires.

accessories

You might already have clear ideas or direction for the colour scheme of your wedding and accessories can be very helpful in bringing this all together. By general rule of thumb, it is advisable to only introduce one additional accent colour to the outfit, whether that be a tie, pair of socks or braces. Shoes should either match or compliment the suit, for example black shoes for a grey suit or tan leather shoes with navy suits but not two-tone blue suits, or black and burgundy shoes for suits in a contemporary green or burgundy.

The pocket square is generally considered to be the one accessory in your ensemble that can be a completely different colour to the rest of the outfit, however this most versatile of accessories adopts the same rule of thumb as the aforementioned accent colours i.e that it is a complimentary colour and not one that clashes; there is a difference.

We will guide you through every element of designing your suit and help you create not only an outfit worthy of the day but that most importantly, reflects your style and makes you feel completely at ease in what you are wearing on the day and whenever you wear it thereafter.
