A Load of Old Flannel: Check Jacket

While the design of our blazers and jackets is almost entirely traditional, incorporating both patch pockets and notch lapels, brass buttons will be replaced with buttons made from other natural materials such as horn, leather or Corozo – the seed of a tropical palm which offers a rainbow of vibrant colours – and the vent will be a double vent, as opposed a single vent, which prevents creasing when seated and narrows the waist by adding breadth to the hip.

What is unique to all of the blazers in the collection, however, is how incredibly comfortable they are to wear; our original blue blazer was designed as an alternative to a cardigan which, while I appreciate a cardigan’s style, they do not provide the sartorial qualities of a jacket i.e. elegant, smart and with enough pockets to carry the accoutrements I do not leave home without; phone, wallet, spectacles, sunglasses, cigar, cigar cutter and lighter and a lip-balm – each has it’s own pocket.

In addition to it’s battalion of pockets, our flannel jackets are also available with our renaissance finish; featuring hand-finished functioning button holes and full canvassing – which improves the fit of a garment and gives the feeling of wearing it, as opposed it wearing you. Please enquire within for costings of this superb addendum to your tailored blazer or jacket. It also features a button-hole stay on the reverse of the lapel to keep your poppy or button-hole, in place – the devil is in the detail.

Sourced from Holland & Sherry, one of the world's most prestigious cloth weavers, our 13oz flannel offers fantastic drape and shape retaining capabilities. Established in 1836, Holland & Sherry are suppliers of some of the finest cloths on the market and garments fashioned from any of their cloths would be considered a serious investment.
