The Blue Blazer: Wardrobe Staple

Our take on the sartorial stalwart which is the blue blazer, was to create a lightweight blazer, that was as comfortable to wear as a cardigan, replacing the traditional brass buttons with Corozo buttons.

All of the jackets and blazers in our Custom Collection benefit from the same design features; patch pockets, fully functioning cuffs and have notch lapels and a single vent.

And like this seasons flannel jacket, the blazer owes its comfortable fit not only to the forgiving cut of our jib, but moreover, to the incredibly soft handle of the cloth, in this instance Mirage from Harrisons of Edinburgh.

This 9oz jacketing is a conundrum of a cloth by all accounts being, as it is, a blend of wool, silk and linen; the soft handle of the wools provides the comfort that those used to wearing natural fibres in their suits will appreciate, silk provides some level of insulation - silk is used as an insulator for mountaineering base layers and linen is mother natures own Gore-Tex, absorbing 20% of it’s own weight in moisture.

As comfortable as it is versatile, the jacket provides the wearer whatever is required at the time, whether that be a cool throw-on piece for layering, a cosy cardigan-like top for lounging or something smart to wear with our slacks or chinos.
